Amid lock down in Odisha, total COVID positive cases confined to 2

Bhubaneswar, Mar 22: Odisha government on Sunday in their official briefing to the media said that the total COVID 19 positive cases in the state has been confined to two as the state is undergoing their lock down period.

Official spokesperson for Odisha government Subrat Bagchi in his media briefing said that the state has tested a total of 76 cases till Sunday out of which only two cases have been identified as positive. No new positive case was reported on Saturday and Sunday.

The state has also admitted 28 suspected cases of Coronavirus in hospitals to aver the chances of any spread of the infection. “As on 12 noon today, 76 samples were sent for test and reports of all the samples have been obtained. All cases are reported to be negative,’ said Bagchi.

He also added, “Health of 02 identified patients’ remains stable.  It is reported that 56 persons had contact with the patient. Communication has been made with 53 persons while effort is on to communicate rest 03 persons. 9 nos of monitoring teams are working for the purpose.

The official also said that a total of 3474 persons have been registered through 104 Helpline who recently had a travel history of foreign tours. They have registered with the government registration of foreign entrants in Odisha was made mandatory by the government few days back.
