Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: Odisha government on Monday made the registration of foreign return passengers, students and travellers mandatory with the state government. The government claimed that those fail to do so will also be liable for legal action.
The state government after the detection of the maiden positive case of Coronavirus on Monday in Bhubaneswar decided to tightened their norms to manage the disease in the state. It has now opened new helpline and asked for mandatory registration of the details of foreign entrants in Odisha.
“Those persons who are now returning to Odisha from foreign countries are now needed to register themselves on 104 helpline while they can also register on a website covid19.odisha.gov.in. Within 24 hours they have to submit their contact numbers, address and other details. It will be good if they can give us advanced information about their arrival,” Asit Tripathy, Chief Secretary of Odisha told reporters.
He also added, “Those who have already entered Odisha after March 4 are given 48 hours to register themselves mandatorily. Those who violate the regulations will be liable for legal action,”
