Bhubaneswar, April 28: The state government on Tuesday said that it has planned to test close to 15000 samples per day soon as lakhs of migrants are likely to descend to their home towns after the lockdown in the state.
Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of the government said, “As several migrants are likely to come back to their state the government has decided to scale up the testing of samples for COVID 19 screening. The Chief Minister has asked it officials to ensure testing of 15000 samples per day,”
The government said that it has now been importing more advanced automatic COBAS 6800 machines to scale up the testing the COVID 19 in the state. “We have decided to scale up the testing by installing three new COBAS machines at three government medical colleges at Bolangir, Koraput and Balasore,” said Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of State Industries department.
Sharma said that the state has been preparing to tackle the worst situations and take faster and extraordinary measures to prepare the state with adequate infrastructure in their fight against COVID 19.
