Vikram Deb College Gets University Status

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the upgradation of Vikram Deb Autonomous College in Jeypore, Koraput to an affiliated university.

Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to attend the platinum jubilee celebrations of the educational institution, tomorrow.

Earlier, the college was an autonomous one of the Berhampur University.

It was established in 1947 by Vikram Deo Verma, erstwhile king of Jeypore. It got its autonomous institution status in 2004.

The educational institution currently has 16 postgraduate programmes, 17 undergraduate programmes, BBA, BCA among other courses.
