3 cities of Odisha go for complete shut down from today

Bhubaneswar, April 4: The Odisha government imposed complete shutdown of three cities from the state for 48 hours in light of COVID threat.

The government said that the step was taken by ensure better surveillance and contact tracing. This comes at a time when the state reported 15 new cases on a single day.

Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said that during the shutdown essential services like grocery shops will also remain shut while the passes given for the lock down period will also remain suspended.

Odisha Director General of Police said that medicine shops will be regulated while grocery shops will be closed down. Banks are also closed during these two days.

The shutdown has been imposed in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak.
